Where Are We Going?

Heaven is indeed a real place! Many people, including the church, have either misrepresented Heaven, or have not taught much about Heaven at all. Although we do not know everything about Heaven, there is a good deal we do know. We can also confidently speculate on Heaven based on biblical study. We hope that all of our readers will go to Heaven and that we will be with you forever!

What is Heaven like, or first, what is it not like? When most people think of Heaven, mysterious visions of a body less existence usually come to mind. Although many would love to float on clouds, and we may well be able to do so, that is not what Heaven is all about. Many people think that God erases your memory and you become some sort of perpetual, God praising, robot spirit. Most people also think that the interests we now have on earth will be completely wiped away. Other than those things which are not godly, there is actually nothing to indicate we will experience a loss of memory or an elimination of our current desires and abilities.

We will most likely be delighted beyond our wildest imagination (as we should be now) to praise God daily and even see Jesus face to face. However, scripture indicates that we will not loose our memories. We won't be just some sort of strict religious spirits. There is no reason that we could not retain at least some of the abilities and interests that we have now.

God created the earth "very good", although it has been temporarily marred by our rebellion in Adam. The earth will eventually be recreated by God, as it was in the beginning, or probably even better. Why would God place us in our current earthly environment only to prepare us for someplace completely different, doing things that are unfamiliar to us? Why would we not remember what we did to prepare for Heaven? We believe that God is getting us ready to live in a glorified Heaven, with access to a new and perfected earth, and with immortal bodies... all without the imperfections that we now experience. He is also preparing us for perfect fellowship with Him and with each other. What we do in the here and now, may be considerably more important than most people imagine.

The answer to the question "Where are we going?" is really dependant upon each individual. Our assumption is that anyone that is bound for Heaven has believed the words of Jesus, who said: "The only way to the Father is through me". And we know that Jesus also said, while teaching the apostles how to pray: "Our Father, who is in Heaven...".

Therefore, we assume that the Father is in Heaven and the only way to get to the Father is through belief in Jesus Christ. Many people would say that this is exclusive, but rather it is actually very inclusive in that it is available to everyone. God desires that none would perish, and that all would receive eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven. It is really our choice. If one believes the biblical teachings of Jesus, then it would be best to apply them and receive eternal life in God's Kingdom. If one doesn't believe Jesus' teachings, why would they even care about Heaven, or much less about what Jesus said concerning anything.

For those that believe they don't need to acknowledge and follow Jesus to go to Heaven; where do they get your information? What does Heaven mean to them? Who or what is their god? The answer is probably that their god is just someone or something they made up, that will bring everyone together at the end of their lives, although they more than likely don't have a deep rooted faith in any of that. If they say that they believe in the God of the Bible, do they really believe in what Jesus teaches in the Bible about going to Heaven and seeing the Father?

We believe that many will not choose Heaven, however, this section of the website is for those that want to know about Heaven. We will attempt to give our readers a more concrete view of the much distorted presentation of Heaven!
